FAQ's
FAQ's
Why does my copper beech feel dry?
➜ That's completely normal—copper beech is a preserved foliage, so it won't feel or behave like fresh greenery
➜ Its flexibility and color come from the preservation process, not from being freshly cut
Should I put copper beech in water?
➜ Not unless you have to—water can cause the preservative and dye to bleed, discoloring both the foliage and the water in your design
➜ If adding to a vase arrangement, cut stems long enough they’ll hold in place, but short enough they won’t reach the water
Will the color rub off?
➜ It can—some color transfer is normal, especially if the foliage becomes wet or is handled with damp hands; take extra care around light-colored fabrics, ribbons, and flowers
Can I use copper beech in floral foam?
➜ Wet foam can cause the dye to bleed and the stem to bloat—if you’re using this method for an event you should be okay as long as the copper beech is added as close to the event date as possible; if you need it to last more than a few days in an arrangement, we don’t recommend it
Can copper beech be used outdoors?
➜ Yes, though it's happiest in dryer conditions—rain, heavy humidity, and prolonged moisture may cause color transfer
Can I section larger branches into smaller pieces?
➜ Absolutely, florists often break up individual laterals from each branch to stretch the product throughout centerpieces and installations
How long will preserved copper beech last?
➜ With proper care, preserved foliage can last for weeks—months, or even years in some cases—when kept indoors and away from moisture and direct sunlight
Why aren't all the leaves the same color?
➜ That's one of the things that makes copper beech so beautiful—depending on the season and maturity, foliage may range from rich burgundy to bronze or even greenish-purple tones
➜ Natural color variation creates depth and movement throughout an arrangement
Can I add in the copper beech on-site for a wedding or event?
➜ Yes, in fact we recommend it! Because copper beach is dyed and preserved, any moisture can cause the dye to transfer to other flowers or linens—as long as you’re careful and don’t accidentally stain any linens in the process, keeping your copper beech dry and adding it in as a final touch on-site is a verified method
