➜ Remove pampas from its packaging promptly after arrival and allow the plumes time to naturally expand

➜ Give each stem a gentle shake outdoors or over a protected surface to release any loose fibers before designing

➜ Stand stems upright in a dry container while they continue fluffing—fresh water isn't necessary for dried pampas, and with age can cause plumes to bloom out and shed dramatically

➜ If the plumes appear compressed after shipping, allow 24–48 hours for them to regain their natural volume before judging their fullness

➜ Avoid high-humidity areas whenever possible, as moisture can temporarily reduce the plume's fluffiness

Will pampas shed?
➜ A little shedding is completely normal, especially during the first few days after unpacking or while arranging it—once settled into place, shedding typically becomes much less noticeable

Can I trim pampas to fit my vase?

Is there a trick to prevent shedding during an event?
➜ Designers have used hairspray to keep plumes from shedding while holding their shape, but you must be extremely cautious using this technique
➜ Both hairspray AND pampas are highly flammable on their own, but the risk is more than doubled when combined—we generally advise against this method, and instead suggest educating your clients on the nature of the product and risks associated
